■Lecture title and abstract:
Mr. Nishikubo:
“NSPECON2023 Participation Report / NSPECON2023 in Kentucky”
8/2-5Held in Louisville, KentuckyNSPECON2023I will outline my participation report based on my recent participation experience.
This time, it is the second face-to-face meeting after the coronavirus, and it is full of content, including tours that could not be held until last year.It was a very valuable experience for me as an engineer, so I would like to take this opportunity to introduce it to you again.
Those who wish to participate from next year onwards,NSPEIf you are an interested member, please take advantage of this opportunity to have your questions answered.

Mr. Nishimura:
“Plastic piping engineering for realizing a low-carbon society”
In recent years, the environmental superiority of plastic products has been greatly reconsidered in developed countries in Europe and America, and the use of plastic materials is actively expanding in various fields. Many papers have been published showing that when comparing appropriately designed plastic products with products made from other materials, the environmental impact of rifle cycle (LCA) evaluations is overwhelmingly favorable. This is because a re-evaluation of its true value is progressing. In this lecture, I will first explain the characteristics that should be noted in design when using plastic materials in contrast to metal materials.Next, he cited the contents of Planning Fundamentals, a design standard published by George Fischer Company, one of the world's largest plastic piping manufacturers, for engineers around the world, and discussed plastic piping engineering. I will explain the main points.

Mr. Takamatsu:
“The value of global technology communication”
With the aim of ``bringing Japan's good technology to the world and the world's good technology to Japan,'' after obtaining my PE and PMP certifications, I changed jobs from a Japanese electronics manufacturer to an overseas automation manufacturer.
As an overseas global program manager for an automobile manufacturing factory, I also had the opportunity to work with overseas PE/PMP.Currently, we are spreading Digital Twins technology to Japan with the aim of improving productivity and reducing risks in Japanese manufacturing industries.I would like to introduce you to the difficulties I faced and the results I achieved.

Mr. Fujita:
“Looking back on my 25 years as a power plant engineer”
Since joining Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Takasago Works in 1999, he has been involved in power plant engineering, and next March will mark his 3th anniversary. I gained a wide variety of experiences related to thermal and nuclear power plants, starting with water treatment equipment, developing heat exchangers, examining plant heat cycles, layout planning, and system planning.I also had the opportunity to visit various countries.I will introduce what I am currently working on based on the universal things I have noticed and my past experiences.

Mr. Nishikubo:
I was given a report on the contents of the NSPE general meeting, and I had a good understanding of recent events.I felt that the tour was well thought out, as it seemed to be an introduction to technology that included solving problems in each city, rather than a simple tour.Since it takes eight days from departure to return to Japan, it is currently difficult to participate personally while working. On the other hand, it is meaningful to participate in NSPE, which is the parent organization of JSPE, so I would like to consider taking advantage of JSPE's subsidy system.Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to support JSPE activities.

Mr. Nishimura:
Plastics have a strong negative image when it comes to the environment, but I realized that if you evaluate them properly, it is appropriate to use them differently depending on the purpose.Plastic bags have a lower environmental impact than paper bags, polyethylene pipes do not break even if bent in an earthquake, do not corrode, and have higher performance than metal pipes, and can be flexibly constructed on-site using electric welding.Thank you very much for your active engineering activities.

Mr. Takamatsu:
Although some of the participants had very few opportunities to interact with PMP and PE people, we learned that PMP and PE are the standard in plant-related fields and form the basis of communication.I think the idea of having a company organization with a real department and a virtual department is interesting. I often hear the term "Digital Twins," but I always felt that it was somehow unrealistic. In today's talk, you introduced a specific example, which gave me an idea. I think it takes a considerable amount of time and money to create Digital Twins, so I thought that balance was important.thank you.

Mr. Fujita:
It was interesting to hear about many hardships and experiences. The microbial corrosion of stainless steel was particularly refreshing.I really sympathize with the points you made at the end: ``Machines don't lie'' and ``Don't just judge factors, but analyze them objectively.'' The words ``Engineers are the ones who solve customers' problems and fulfill their requests'' made sense to me and stayed with me.Thank you for your lecture.
