Number of participants: 12 people (11 PE members, including instructors)

Title: ECanadian Engineering Schools and their Research
Lecturer: Mr. Colin Dale
Gist:
By using topics related to engineering in Canada as materials, the purpose is not only to learn English, but also to deepen the understanding of the actual situation of overseas engineering as a PE.It will be an online lecture by a native speaker from Canada, but the instructor is also fluent in Japanese, so please use it as an opportunity for self-improvement.

As with last time, we welcomed Mr. Colin as the lecturer and held the second English seminar of this year. This time, the lecture focused on engineering education at major universities in Canada.Through the exercises, I learned about research being conducted at Canadian universities and learned that Canadian students' week consists of a very dense curriculum.I was also told that Canadian universities do not have entrance exams, but instead have an open environment, both internally and externally, where anyone can enter if they get a score above the standard on a national exam.In addition, I learned that high school students not only improve their own skills but also increase their contacts with companies by actively participating in various contests. I once again felt that JSPE needs to revitalize the group and improve its sustainability by having students who aim to become engineers join the group.I would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Colin for providing us with useful information.
