Lecture title: Relationship between carbon material manufacturing technology and engineers
Process for Carbon Products – Role of Engineer for Breakthrough in the Process

Lecture summary:
It was said that the XNUMXth century was the century of iron, the XNUMXth century was the century of silicon, and the XNUMXst century was the century of carbon. However, in reality, the word "decarbonization" has become popular for a while, and carbon has become a situation where it can be seen as a villain rather than a protagonist of this century. Also, regarding carbon, the mainstream themes such as nanocarbon and graphene are in the limelight, and the core carbon materials are disappearing from the research and development themes of companies and universities. The current situation.Research in new fields such as nanocarbon is also an attractive theme, but considering the various properties of carbon materials, the applications of carbon materials, which will become the core of carbon materials, will expand dramatically in the future, and it is possible to literally realize the century of carbon. There is enough sex.Today, we will first outline the manufacturing methods and application examples of various carbon materials using coal tar as a starting material.Next, I would like to select some key processes, introduce the involvement of engineers, and call on the cooperation and participation of engineers toward the realization of the carbon century.

Lecturer: Mr. Shunsaku Hiraga, Senior Managing Director, Carbon Material International Co., Ltd.

Participation fee: JSPE member 1,500 yen JSPE non-member 2,500 yen
We will issue a 2.5h PDH.
After the event, we are planning a one-coin (500 yen) social gathering.

As the last technical CPD seminar of this year, Mr. Hiraga of Carbon Material International Co., Ltd. gave a lecture on carbon material manufacturing technology.
He introduced the manufacturing technology, applications, and future prospects of carbon materials obtained from coal as a starting material.I think that it was a technology / product that I rarely come into contact with, but while it is said to be "decarbonized" due to the effects of global warming, I would like to touch on how to effectively use carbon as a substance instead of carbon dioxide. Is done.
