Japanese System of Engineer and Engineering Ethics: In Relation to the PE System of the United States

Summary: The Japanese engineer system and engineer ethics have been introduced with the American system as an example.There were three opportunities for this introduction.The first is the establishment of the ethical code of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers before the war.The second time was the establishment of the Japan Engineers Association in 1951.The third was a system reform from the start of the examination / registration system for US PE qualifications in Japan in 1994 to the revision of the Professional Engineer Act in 2000.In this lecture, we will compare these three cases and historically consider the philosophy that has directed Japanese engineer ethics.

Biography: Graduated from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Kanazawa University.Completed the master's program at the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology (Physics).Completed the master's program at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo (History of Science).Completed the doctoral program at the same university and withdrew from school (acquired a degree in 2012).After working as a researcher at the Center for International Philosophy Exchange for Coexistence at the same university and a part-time lecturer at Showa University and Tsurumi University, he was appointed to the Kanazawa Institute of Technology in 2006.
