With the cooperation of the No. 2017 Construction Office of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, we visited the construction site of the Ring Road 3 underground wide-area reservoir (Shakujiigawa section) construction site.This reservoir is a tunnel-type underground reservoir that connects the Shirako River underground reservoir and the Kandagawa Kanshichi underground reservoir, which have already been constructed.The construction period is from March 2025 to December 12, tunnel inner diameter 12.5m, length 5.4km, Toyotama (middle) shaft 15.6m x 12.1m (52.4m depth pneumatic caisson), shield tunnel wall divided into 1.8 (XNUMXm width) ) is the construction content of the synthetic segment.It is a large cross-section tunnel that can rival the shield tunnel of the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, and all the visitors were overwhelmed by its scale.When completed, it will become a wide-area regulation pond that spans five rivers, and will serve as an essential social infrastructure that protects basins from disasters that have frequently caused flooding due to heavy rain in the past.Construction by major Japanese general contractors (Taisei, Kashima, Obayashi, Keikyu Construction JV) is progressing from south to north.
