We visited the former Mikawashima Sewage Disposal Site Kakutsutsuba in Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, divided into the morning section and the afternoon section.Even though the operation was stopped in 11, the facility that was built 100 years ago and has been in operation for nearly 80 years is preserved, and I was able to get a glimpse of the ingenuity of the engineers at the time of construction.In addition, I was able to hear valuable stories about the contents planned in consideration of harmony with the existing parts when repairing and restoring as an important cultural property.We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Tokyo Metropolitan Sewerage Service Co., Ltd. for explaining the details of the facility during the tour.
