[Implementation report]

Participation: XNUMX people (including lecturer)
This time, Dr. Collins, who gave a lecture from Washington State on Skype in January of this year, provided a topic under the title of "Engineering Leadership" and we all had a discussion.
On the day of the event, some people could not come to the venue due to traffic obstacles caused by the typhoon, so the lecture was very enthusiastic.
What does leadership mean to you? What actions should leadership take?Starting with the basic question, we were introduced to various leaders in Japan and the United States and their actions and ideas, and it was an opportunity for all participants to think deeply about leader leadership.
In addition, the differences in the qualities of PEs and leaders who comply with Ethics were also discussed.
Furthermore, it was introduced that there is a large gap in thinking about leadership between generations not only in Japan but also in the United States, and the leader theory so far is no longer valid, and as a countermeasure for such a situation, there is a karaoke drink. There was also a discussion about what Japan and the United States have in common (Collins-sensei style?).
It's a pity that I couldn't convey the content of the lecture well, but originally I wanted to take a little more time at the seminar and discuss it with a large number of participants.
If you have any topics that you would like us to take up at the seminar, please contact the Education Subcommittee.
In addition, the JSPE Education Subcommittee is looking for operational support members to continue the Engineers Salon, so we ask for your cooperation.
