On the afternoon of June 6st, the day before the general meeting, a joint meeting of JSPE, JABEE, and NSPE was held in Shinbashi, Tokyo for the third year.The purpose of this attempt is to inform the US side that there is an international certification framework for engineering education called JABEE in Japan, and to let us Japanese know the latest trends in engineering education in the United States. increase.
JSPE introduced that the activities of the past two years include CPD seminars, engineer salons, and project management seminars that make member PEs aware of multi-disciplinary.

Next, JABEE introduced the results of the last three audits since joining the Washington Accord WA in 2005.Regarding the engineering element and multi-disciplinary element, which were pointed out to be lacking in Japanese university engineering education last year, improvement has been recognized by taking the efforts of the University of Tokyo as an example, but Stanford University's I was introduced that how to effectively promote integration with other fields such as D school is an item that must be considered in the future.

Chairman Roberts explained the results of a survey on the PE licensing system, which shows that more than two-thirds of the states consider that a license is not required from the perspective of business expansion.However, this can be said because the quality is guaranteed by QBS (Quality Based Selection), that is, there are no problems, and it was explained that the premise may be broken if the license system becomes unnecessary. I did.
