The 1th anniversary CPD seminar was held on Saturday, January 27th. Dr. Collins of the University of Washington, USA gave a lecture as a culmination of the 300 JSPE activity policy "Crossing and connecting technical fields".

JSPE 2017 activity policy

On the day of the seminar, we had a lecture on Skype from Washington State, so it was a different morning seminar. It was the first full-length English seminar for the secretariat, a Skype connection with the United States, Ustream distribution, and a project that made full use of the experience so far. (Thanks for the cooperation of Mori members)

Agenda of the day

The number of participants on the day was large, and I think that everyone was very interested in "ethics" and "internationalization."
The first half of the lecture gave an overview of engineer education at the University of Washington in the United States.Citizen EngineerHe introduced the outline of the lecture and its effects. In the second half, Dr. Collins introduced his research on engineering ethics based on Japanese philosophy and ethics based on his experience in Japan. In the question and answer session held at the end of the first half and the second half, participants asked positive questions and lively discussions were held on what Japan should be as a PE.
In the phrase from the Educational Rehabilitation Execution Council, the phrase "Understand the characteristics of Japanese civilization and give an opportunity for new creation while having a Japanese identity" is used in the activities of JSPE, who is Japanese but has PE qualifications. I feel like I received some useful suggestions.

State of Tokyo venue

We would like to continue and expand our connection with Dr. Collins in the future, and we ask for the active participation of all members.
