On Saturday, December 12th, as the last technical CPD seminar of this year, Mr. Shintani of Intertek Research Co., Ltd. gave a two-part lecture on the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the first half and the world standard KNX in the second half. ..
The terms "Fourth Industrial Revolution" and Germany's "Industry 4.0" are not essentially the same, as opposed to "Industry 4.0" discussing changes in the industrial structure brought about by technological advances. It was surprising that the "Next Industrial Revolution" will have a wide impact on social structure, economic structure, and even our lives due to the digital revolution, and in fact it seems that terms are mixed in various places.
Also, for us at PE, what kind of impact will the advancement of AI and IoT have on the industrial structure?What is your role as an engineer at that time?As with autonomous driving technology, there was a debate about who would be responsible and how.
In the latter half of KNX, many students did not even know the name, but it is said that it has become the global standard for network communication protocols in intelligent buildings.We felt that gateways to all standards were provided and that all electrical equipment in the building, including air conditioning, lighting, security and communications, would be controlled under the KNX protocol.Since I'm just listening to it, there may be some mistakes in my understanding, but I have to keep an eye on the trends in the world.Mr. Shintani, the instructor, also visited the year-end party and interacted with the members.
